PAY RANGE
The Target Pay Range for this position is $328,000 - $444,000 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.BENEFITS

Newly hired employees accrue 6.16 hours of paid time off (PTO) on a per pay period basis based on hours worked (up to a maximum of 160 PTO hours per year) and receive ten paid holidays throughout the calendar year. Impact you’ll make:
As the Senior Vice President, Technology for Consumer & Business Solutions at BECU, you will lead technology teams to transform applications and platforms in lending, ensuring the company's growth and exceeding member expectations. Reporting to the Executive Vice President, Chief Information Officer, you will partner with senior leaders to enable business vision around member journey and experience or financial lending product platforms. With a critical eye towards problems and opportunities, you will strengthen technology priorities, roadmaps, and solutions delivery, guiding the entire organization towards innovation and effectiveness. You will shift the IT mindset from order taking to a product mindset.
This role includes ensuring core banking platform exceeds member’s expectations around availability and features, promoting agility of core banking system in support of BECU’s growth, challenging status quo and rallying the team towards the big picture.
What you’ll do:
- Provide Thought Leadership: Spearhead the transformation of BECU’s enterprise lending applications, driving technical and operational directions, and delivering new capabilities.
- Partner Strategically: Act as the primary technology partner with the business, ensuring technology alignment and enabling the business vision through evolving strategies.
- Lead Technology Strategies: Direct and implement technology strategies and roadmap to achieve optimal business outcomes. Develop and apply subject matter expertise regarding relevant events, market trends, and competitive developments that affect the IT industry, BECU, and assigned partner businesses.
- Develop Business Expertise: Develop and understand the overarching business model, key drivers, and unique characteristics to develop extensive business cases and preparedness of the partner business unit to initiate projects or initiatives.
- Prioritize Technology Initiatives: Lead efforts to prioritize technology-related projects through in-depth analysis of cost, value, risk, and impact.
- Implement Comprehensive Technology Programs: Develop, implement, and monitor strategic programs to ensure information integrity and availability. Create feedback mechanisms to continually improve the quality of service of BECU tech.
- Identify Innovative Technologies: Identify new technologies that improve performance, stability, security, or reduce costs.
- Challenge and Improve Tech Stack: Make recommendations for enhancing the current tech stack and enabling unencumbered access to core data through modern API integration.
- Ensure Stability and Resiliency: Oversee analysis of technology efficiency, accuracy, stability, availability, and resiliency of key business systems and applications.
- Lead Business-Aligned Technology Solutions: Head a team dedicated to providing timely, business-aligned technology solutions to support the business needs.
- Strengthen Inclusive Culture: Foster a culture of learning, collaboration, transparency, and inclusiveness within the team.
- Strengthen the team and culture: Manage employee engagement and promote a compelling employee value proposition to retain staff. Create a culture that supports learning, collaboration, transparency, and inclusiveness.
- Lead with Excellence: Lead a team of technology and business executives dedicated to providing timely, business aligned technology solutions that support business needs. Provide guidance to the team in their roles and cast the BECU vision.
- Annual Planning: Capture tech initiatives in an annual plan (including timing, magnitude, priority, etc.) to ensure new/unplanned initiatives have complete financial plans. Lend your expertise in creating and executing the annual operating plan.
- Perform Additional Duties: Perform additional duties as assigned in accordance with BECU competencies, compliance, regulatory, and Information Protection requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Computer Science, or related field required.
- Twelve years of people management experience.
- Eight years of leadership experience in delivering banking/lending products using technology as the key enabler, including experience with core platforms and integration to non-banking platforms.
- Eight years of technology or engineering experience at the executive level.
- Hands-on domain specific leadership in technology planning and modernization roadmaps, and implementation of composable API/Microservices architecture.
Desired Qualifications:
- This job is remote or hybrid but requires you to reside in one of the following states: Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, California, North Carolina or Virginia. Travel to WA Headquarters up to 25%-50%.
- Master’s degree.
- Possess expertise and versatility in Core Platform and Integration. Experience in Mortgage Platforms like ICE, Black Knight and Cadence will be a strong plus
- In depth engineering background.
- Exceptional planning skills in both tactical and strategic planning.
- Exceptional leadership and negotiation skills.
- Experience in project lifecycles from business case development to final delivery, business-IT relationship management, and managing vendor relationships.
- Understanding of System Development Life Cycle.
