PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is The Senior Business Analyst – Finance is responsible for identifying opportunities for improving services and products to BECU members and processes internal to BECU through the use of technology, exhibiting a broad knowledge base of multiple applications and BECU business units in a highly collaborative environment. The SBA accomplishes this through leveraging the functionality of applications and maintenance of a professional working relationship with the end user of the applications. This role acts as a liaison between business and IT departments to translate business needs and objectives into technology solutions. The Senior Business Analyst – Finance works on complex projects/teams. Role incumbents will be self-motivated, display leadership and forward thinking skills and be capable of operating at strategic and tactical levels. annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

IMPACT YOU’LL MAKE:

As a Senior Business Analyst supporting Finance Shared Services, you’ll be a strategic partner in driving operational excellence across BECU’s financial systems and processes. You’ll collaborate across teams to identify opportunities for improvement, translate business needs into technology solutions, and lead initiatives that enhance member services and internal efficiencies. Your work will directly impact how financial data flows, how systems connect, and how teams deliver value. You’ll also mentor others and help shape the future of financial operations through innovation and collaboration. This is a role where your insights and leadership will make a measurable difference.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Lead Requirements Gathering: Work closely with Finance Shared Services stakeholders to document and communicate business and user needs.
  • Design Technical Solutions: Guide teams in creating scalable, finance-aligned solutions that meet business goals and system capabilities.
  • Coordinate Vendor Delivery: Translate functional specifications into vendor requirements and manage delivery timelines and expectations.
  • Support Testing & Quality: Lead test planning and help resolve bugs to ensure smooth implementation of finance-related solutions.
  • Manage Application Updates: Oversee installation of patches, releases, and enhancements across environments, following change control protocols.
  • Project Management: Lead enhancements and small-scale projects, ensuring timely and effective execution within the finance domain.
  • Consult Across Business Units: Act as a trusted advisor to departments within and beyond Finance Shared Services, helping prioritize objectives and align technology strategies.
  • Lead Business Readiness: Drive enterprise analysis efforts, identifying people, process, and system impacts for projects of all sizes.
  • Provide Production Support: Assist with application-specific support as needed, including fourth-tier troubleshooting.
  • Document & Maintain Processes: Coordinate creation and upkeep of manuals, procedures, and documentation for finance application support.
  • Plan for Upgrades & Recovery: Maintain lifecycle roadmaps and develop disaster recovery plans for finance-related applications.
  • Mentor Analysts: Support and guide less experienced Business Analysts, fostering growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Drive Data Strategy: Develop and execute data management strategies, including automation and regulatory reporting support.
  • Contribute Beyond the Role: Take on additional duties as assigned, supporting the broader goals of Finance Shared Services and the enterprise.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/related discipline, or equivalent work or education experience.
  • Typically requires a minimum of eight years of experience working with business software applications.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong understanding of waterfall and agile project methodologies.
  • Knowledge of SQL and relational database concepts/languages.
  • Troubleshooting skills for functional issues during testing and training.
  • Experience with multiple problem-solving methods.
  • Experience with Snowflake and related tools (e.g. Databricks, Snowpark, Azure Data Factory, Fivetran, etc.).
  • Experience with building ETL processes.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with Alteryx.
  • Experience with SSIS.
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement projects using BECU and industry methodologies.
  • Advanced knowledge of SDLC practices.
  • Ability to draw technical diagrams for current and future state applications or data flows.
  • Proven ability to stay current with emerging technologies.
  • Experience managing solutions across multiple programming languages and environments.
  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience creating strong business cases with financial, strategic, and risk analysis.
  • Skilled in data analysis and validation using methods like SQL queries.
