PAY RANGE

The Target Pay Range for this position is $130,200-$159,200 annually. The full Pay Range is $101,100-$188,300 annually. At BECU, compensation decisions are determined using factors such as relevant job-related skills, experience, and education or training. Should an offer for employment be made, we will consider individual qualifications. In addition to your salary, compensation incentives are available for the hired applicant. Incentives are performance based and targets vary by role.

SUMMARY

The Sales Compensation Consultant provides consultative expertise, guidance, and analysis to Business Stakeholders to help meet their business objectives through sales compensation design and execution. The incumbent will proactively partner with Business Leaders and Human Resources Business Partners (HRBPs) to identify and address sales compensation opportunities and challenges. The Sales Compensation Consultant is primarily responsible for developing and administering sales compensation programs that align with the Total Rewards Strategy to attract, motivate, and retain a competent and diverse workforce.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the collaborative design and implementation of variable compensation plans that align with organizational goals.
  • Partner with Sr Sales Compensation Analyst in the design of incentive calculation spreadsheets to ensure they are effective and accurate. Provide feedback and guidance in administration of monthly, quarterly, and annual payouts.
  • Provide feedback in the development and management of tools and models to be used in the variable incentive plan design process.
  • Lead compensation projects using planning and organization tools to ensure deadlines are met and projects are successful.
  • Act as mentor with the Sales Compensation team to provide training, guidance and leadership on Sales Compensation concepts and client support.
  • Oversee the evaluation process to ensure the effectiveness of incentive compensation programs and provide recommendations for change.
  • Partner with leadership, HR Business Partners and managers regarding issues, questions, and concerns; taking appropriate action to see that they are resolved.
  • Oversight of external benchmarking/job evaluations, analysis, and presentations to client groups.
  • Partner with Compensation Analyst on job description creation, revisions, and maintenance.
  • Review proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines, policies, and practices.
  • Provide support and ad hoc analysis and reporting.
  • Perform additional duties, as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Human Resources or other closely related field or equivalent work or education experience required.
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in the Sales Compensation field required, such as commission or incentive calculation, incentive plan design or modeling.
  • Two years of experience leading sales incentive plan design projects required.
  • Experience partnering with business leaders communicating concepts, project information and analysis required.
  • Understanding of sales compensation concepts required.
  • Excellent conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Advanced-level Excel required.
  • Ability to take initiative, drive project work, and complete work within established deadlines.
  • Ability to prepare and present professional level presentations to senior leaders.
